We've been going nuts over these Embroider Buddies! They're so cute and soft; you can't help but snuggle them. Best of all, you can customize them any way you like. Don't have an embroidery machine? No problem! You can also hand embroider, use transfer designs, or even patches. Let your creativity run wild!
All you need is a 4x4 hoop, which is standard with most embroidery machines. Use sticky back stabilizer to float your Buddy or Tear-Away if you prefer to hoop your buddy. I found using a Wash Away stabilizer on top gave me the best results.
If you plan to embroider a detailed design, I suggest testing on some light weight fleece or minky scraps first. Making a test design on scraps will insure your settings are perfect before working on the Buddy. Also, you want to use high-quality, long-lasting embroidery thread. These products are built well and need an equally strong thread. I've always enjoyed Isacord and Hemingworth Thread.
The trick to a perfectly positioned design is to line the center of your design with the seams above and below the Buddy's belly. That's what the seams are there for - to help with positioning. Also, take a minute to make sure your embroidered design will be right-side up. I almost made this mistake myself.

It was a great way to memorialize his first birthday. And best of all, it's washable! Simply remove the pods and toss in the wash on cold. The durable fabric can withstand some serious wear and tear, so don't be afraid to let them play.
