Hey Everyone! In part 4 we are constructing the skirt, attaching it to the bodice, and inserting the invisible zipper. We’re really coming into the home stretch with this costume. Once you’ve inserted the invisible zipper, you’ll have completed all of the hardest parts of this costume. Whoosh! What an experience!
We’ll be finishing everything up this week – stay tuned!

Thanks very much.
Where can I find part 1&2 tutorial of the Elsa costume?
Hi! You can find them on this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_o5Ri9T8hDDy8vKJ_RdkgYNg5X6b7J7c
Thank you so much for the tutorial. Your videos were very helpful and I learned how to install a zipper for the first time. The dress is just about finished, just need to clip. What did you do for the cape? Did you use the pattern for Anna’s cape? Thank you again I learned tricks that will help me next time.
This has been great! It has been a pleasure to sew a difficult dress accompanied by your instructions and charm. My only problem is that I am trying to finish it, but I don’t have your wonderful guidance! And because you have the “cape”/overlay separate, I can’t use the McCall’s directions to figure out how to put everything together. And today is Halloween! Please do help!! I need it!! Thank you!
Yikes, is there a 5th video? I thought there was one more.
Thank you so much for this wonderful information! You are a lifesaver to me! I should be able to finish my daughter’s Elsa costume in time for Halloween! Hooray!!
I am so happy to have found your blog! I am looking forward to looking into it even more!
Thanks again!
These videos have been very helpful for my mother whose making my daughters Elsa dress for Halloween. My question is when will you be posting Part 5? Thank you!
Thank you so much! A couple questions.
1. Can you use a regular zipper? I know it won’t be as pretty.
2. Were we supposed to do anything with the bodice lining yet?
Thanks again for these videos!!!!
Hi Tara,
Yes you certainly can use a regular zipper – watch episode 12 of beginners guide to sewing to see how to insert a regular zipper. The link is here for you to follow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFLMGiDyQ5I&list=UU2QfralkpSNApY81B8Fp8Eg.
All you were suppose to do with the lining was sew it to the neckline of the bodice — we attach the rest of it once the zipper is in place.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Sarah
Thank you so much for the help. I got the zipper in and it looks mostly ok. Any chance we will have a video tonight to finish up?
