Ever had your needle fall INTO your machine? If you have trouble installing needles, you need to check out this tool. In this video we show you how to easily, quickly, and safely install needles in your sewing machine and serger. We’ll also show you how the Needler Inserter/ Bobbin Puller quickly pulls out bobbins from top loading machines.

You have just saved me a lot of time and money and I am eternally grateful! I am a writer and a quilter. Sometimes I write more than I quilt and forget how to change feet on my machine or the needle or whatever. Or which feet to use. I still have a lot of questions but the post about installing the needle with FLAT SIDE BACK was my problem. Quilting, I always thought the flat side went front so you could see the color of the needle. I even cleaned the bobbin tray, which didn’t need cleaning, changed feet, which didn’t need changing, but still can’t get my tension right to sew my straight seams at 3.0 stitches. But fabric is cut and as long as I can sew them, I can manage. I’ll look at the rest of your page to see if I can find out about tension. Thanks again. My website/blog has nothing about quilting. My FB page is susancrosswrites so if you want to find me and see a couple of my quilts that’s where they are. If not, that’s okay too.

So glad we were able to help! Tension can be a little tricky, but generally for a 3.0 stitch, I reduce my needle tension down 1 number from the automatic setting. We have a video talking about tension here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfA7bmUf4cc – the information regarding tension starts at time marker 06:52.
There is also more information here: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/blog/beginners-guide-sewing-sewing-machine-parts-reference-guide/
And you have beautiful quilts! It’s such a rewarding hobby, isn’t it??
