Heat N Bond Liquid Vinyl Gel Coating (8.68oz) Details

Product Description

Heat N Bond's Liquid Vinyl Gel Coating opens up new creative possibilities and lets you create your own laminated fabrics. This gel coating enables you to turn your favorite materials stain-resistant, water-resistant, and even waterproof! Depending on how many coats you apply, you can achieve different effects, including a semi-gloss oilcloth look. Each jar of Liquid Vinyl is non-toxic, acid-free, phthalate-free, and contains 8.68 ounces (246g). Please note the brush pictured is not included.

Apparel

Liquid Vinyl is perfect for any project from apparel to home décor. You can apply it to your shoes to help keep them clean, as well as ponchos, backpacks, tote bags, and more! With three or more coats of gel, you will have a semi-gloss oilcloth finish that is ideally suited for kitchen items and outside furniture like cushions, pillows, coasters, and placemats. Plus, once dry, the Liquid Vinyl is transparent and flexible, making it virtually undetectable!

Ironing

This innovative tool works best on smooth fabrics, and you should pre-wash all materials without fabric softener before applying the gel where possible. Please note that the Liquid Vinyl may slightly alter the fabric's appearance, so for best results, always pre-test before starting a project. Once applied, let your fabric or project dry for at least 30 to 45 minutes before ironing. Projects that can't be ironed, like shoes, will still be water and stain-resistant and the oilcloth finish is still achievable, but the project cannot be machine-washed. The Liquid Vinyl will fully cure after 24 hours and is machine-washable in cold water; remove promptly and lay flat to dry where applicable.

Sewing

Materials treated with Liquid Vinyl are machine sewable; however, sewing may compromise the waterproofing due to the needle holes. The same principle applies when pinning your fabric, so you should use clips instead to minimize holes in the treated material. Use a non-stick foot, Teflon foot, when sewing so your fabric glides more efficiently, and if the fabric sticks to your machine, try applying tissue paper or printer paper over those troublesome areas on your machine.
