Unlike other threads, Aurifil's thread is mercerized to give it strength and a vibrant sheen. Mako Cotton Variegated Thread is available in various colors, and each spool contains 1,422-yards (1300m). Variegated threads are wonderfully adaptable, adding color interest to any project. This long-staple Egyptian cotton thread is ideal for embroidery, longarm quilting, basting, hand piecing, bobbin and machine lace, and any other project you would like to use it on. Aurifil recommends you use an 80/12 needle in home sewing machines and a 4.0 needle in longarm machines. Varigated thread can be washed in cold water and tumble dried on very low heat and shouldn't be bleached.
