There are so many creative projects you can accomplish by tweaking your basic serger stitches. In this video, we show how a 2 thread flatlock is actually a ladder stitch in disguise. It's a great stitch to use when you create fagoting. Simply take two pieces of fabric and serger them together so that the ends just barely touch. The end result will lay flat. You can then weave in ribbon, yarn, or even beads, as Nancy Zeiman does in her book, "Serging with Confidence".
