Koala Maker Center Sewing Cabinet Details
Built with the finest materials, these luxurious sewing spaces feature design advantages and configuration options that support all brands of machines and sewing genres. Koala’s exclusive ergonomic design inspires mastery and comfort while meeting the individual needs of your personal sewing studio. Choose your configuration and color, and Koala will build you the sewing studio of your dreams. Configure the perfect studio today that fits the needs of your space and style. Whether you’re looking for a home for your thread, storage for your sewing supplies, or quick access to your favorite notions, there’s a Koala studio configuration that’s perfect for you. Take a look at Koala’s exclusive features below.
Rounded, Beveled Edges
Koala furniture features rounded corners and beveled edges, enhancing the furniture's appearance. This eliminates the possibility of snagging your fabric on sharp edges and corners. To achieve this, each board is precisely shaped with a computer-controlled diamond tip router, eliminating the need for saws that leave sharp edges. By Koala incorporating this advanced design feature into their furniture, the wood core must be made from a dense, high-grade, 3/4 inch fiberboard with no imperfections.
Designed & Assembled In The Midwest
Koala sewing cabinets are designed and assembled in their Midwest facility with the utmost quality and craftsmanship. Every detail of your Koala Studio – from the environmentally friendly, highest-grade engineered wood base to the steel components and decorative handles – was chosen with quality, elegance, and luxury in mind.
Large Capacity, Full-Extension Drawers
Koala sewing furniture features full-extension drawers that glide smoothly open, and close softly. The silent soft-closing hydraulic cushion makes the drawers impossible to slam. The 5/8-inch framed drawer boxes combined with the steel drawer glides are weight-tested to hold up to 100 lbs., fully extended.
Remote Control Electric Glide Lift
The XL Lift holds the largest, heaviest machines, and features a rack and pinion direct drive powered by dual motors. It also requires an XL Machine Insert. The XL Lift comes standard on all Creative Center base studios.
Rich, Elegant Finishes
Koala sewing furniture is available in four elegant finishes and will enhance any décor. Each piece is finished in the same rich veneer and color throughout, making it as beautiful inside and out. The finish is a thick vinyl veneer that is hardwearing, scratch-resistant, water resistant and easy to clean. Choose the beautiful finish that matches your personality and sewing room.
Large Work Surface
When you’re needing a large flat surface to work on, access the filler board from the storage area in the cabinet. Then lower your machine down completely to store it inside the cabinet, so you can make use of the entire work surface.
Exclusive Ergonomic Design
When talking about the science of ergonomics, primary drivers dictate how a person's body will perform in a task. We’ve learned that in sewing, it begins with your line of sight and starts a chain reaction through your body. Koala’s exclusive ergonomic design begins with a studio height of 32 ½”. This height creates a perfect starting point that can accommodate any individual.
Your Koala studio comes with an adjustable base that can be set in any 1 of 5 different positions to create the perfect placement for your hips, knees, and feet. This allows you to be positioned ergonomically from head to toe, so you can comfortably sew or quilt for hours on end.
Custom Machine Insert
Every Koala studio sewing cabinet is built specifically for you! When placing your order, we need the brand and model number of your specific machine. This allows us to order your custom machine acrylic insert. The insert creates a smooth surface around your machine, so your sewing work area is completely flat and level between the cabinet and your machine.
