Aurifil 40wt Mako Cotton Thread (5140yds) Details
Product Description
Aurifil's 2-ply, 40-weight Mako Cotton Thread is slightly thicker than their 50-weight. The 40-weight is great for when you need a more defined pattern or design. You can use this luxury thread in sewing bags, toys, and garments. Mako Cotton 40wt Thread produces essentially no lint, making it ideal for single/double/triple strand cross-stitching, hand piecing, bobbin and machine lace, applique, embroidery, edge-to-edge, pantographs, and custom longarm quilting.
All of Aurifil's thread is 100% Egyptian cotton that is grown in the Mako region of Egypt and manufactured in Milan, Italy. To make their 2-ply Mako Cotton Thread even more lavish, Aurifil has all of their thread mercerized to give the strands strength and a vibrant sheen. With all these fabulous features, it's no wonder why Aurifil thread is famous for its versatility, durability, and radiant color.
Each cone in the Mako Cotton Thread collection holds 5410-yards (4700 meters). To get the best results, Aurifil recommends that you use a size 80/12 microtex/sharp, universal, or denim needle for everyday sewing, a 90/14 or 75/11 when quilting, and a 3.4 or 4.0 needle when quilting with a longarm.
