This probably has to do with my lack of experience using this type of foot or in sewing. I could not use this foot for my upholstery project despite it being the correct size for the welt cord I purchased because this in combination with the fabric seemed to be too thick to completely fit within the groove of this foot. The result: what I thought would simplify my job was a total disaster and I ended up using a zipper foot instead. Now, I called Sewing Parts for advice and I feel I should have been told about this possible outcome. Regardless, the foot seems to be well-built, but I cannot comment on its performance based on my experience unless I could compare it to the next size for my application.
