I was glad to finally have a plate in inches. When I was mainly doing garment construction using a 5/8 inch seam, I could judge the width close enough on my metric plate. I’ve started quilting and it’s harder to have the correct accuracy with a 1/4” seam However, one of the “prongs” that snap into the machine wasn’t at the right angle and I couldn’t snap the plate in. I had to use a pliers to bend it. I was worried I might break it off, but it was ok
