1. Attach the Foot Use sewing thread or decorative thread on top and sewing thread in the bobbin.
2. Select your Stitch Set the machine for a straight stitch or hand-look quilt stitch.
3. Install the Attachment Plate
   Place the attachment plate onto the stitch plate of the machine.
   Align the pin on the back of the attachment plate with the top opening on the stitch plate.
   Secure the attachment plate with one thumb screw.
4. Attach the Binder Place the binder onto the attachment plate.
   Adjust the position of the binder until it lines up properly.
   Secure it using the new thumb screws and washers.
5. Prepare the Binding Strip Place Tear-Away Stabilizer under the fabric.
   Cut enough 1 3/4" (45 mm) strips to cover that length and join the strips together.
   Trim the end of the strip into a point for easier insertion.
6. Insert the Binding Strip Using tweezers, feed the fabric strip into the binder with the wrong side facing up.
   Once the fabric emerges from the end of the binder, hold the folded strip with your left hand and continue feeding it smoothly.
   The binder will automatically form a double-fold tape as you guide it through.
7. Position the Fabric Choose another decorative stitch to add variety.
8. Position the Fabric Raise the presser foot and pull the fabric strip straight back (2.5" / 5-6 cm) behind the needle.
   Slide the fabric to be bound (right side up) into the slot of the binder.
   Adjust the stitch position left or right to achieve the desired needle placement.

How to Finish the Binding:

1. Sew Around the Quilt Edge Continue sewing until the binding edges almost meet.
2. Trim Excess Fabric Cut off any excess fabric from the beginning of the binding.
3. Overlap the Binding Continue sewing, overlapping the binding one more time for a clean finish.
4. Remove the Quilt Take the quilt out of the binder and trim the excess binding, leaving a 1" (2.5 cm) tail.
5. Secure the Binding End Fold back the opening of the binding, pin it in place, and sew a seam over the folded edge for a seamless finish.
