The bobbin case is the part of the sewing machine that the bobbin is inserted into, that holds the tension of the bobbin thread. Tension is adjustable via a screw on the side of the bobbin case. Be sure to use the bobbins that are specifically designed to work with this bobbin case, as other bobbins will cause skipped stitches and can cause bigger problems for your sewing machine.

First use, the new Bobbin case corner broke off just like the original one I was replacing. It appeared to be a lower grade plastic than the original. I used the original for 20 years. But a replacement is being sent to me at no charge, so the customer service with this company is great. I’m a happy customer. I would recommend using this company to order sewing machine parts.

The bobbin case does not work with the bobbin. If I close the cover over the bobbin, it is unable to turn and allow the thread to feed. Do I need to order a new bobbin? Thanks!

bobbin case #421326. This bobbin case went to a Singer 543 Stylist. The bobbin case has the letter S in a circle on the top side of the bobbin. The bobbin fit in the race ok but was thicker at the flange edge. It was about a fingernail thicker at the race edge. This caused the thread to jam on the bobbin case retainer finger and not release. Therefore, after the thread wound itself a couple of times around the top of bobbin case, the thread would release to a huge clunk sound and bird nest on the bottom of the fabric. Then start the process all over. So, I took the tension springs out of the new and put them in the old bobbin case and reinserted into the machine. I don't know if a bobbin case from Singer Parts Online would be any better. I haven't tried. Maybe you can check the singer specs and compare to that particular bobbin case. Roy Heginbotham

It is not the right piece, sits too high on the bobbin case and does not allow the case to close correctly. I would love to talk to someone and see if they can suggest another that would be a better fit.

Genuine part works great! I had ordered a cheap version elsewhere that was terrible quality, this was perfect to replace my broken case.
I have a 533 model. This bobbin case was a little thicker (not even a millimeter) than the old one I had in machine. I had to shave off the plastic rim thickness just a little to make it fit. I used just a nail file and it took just seconds to adjust the fit. It works fine in my machine now.

This part was not identical to the original it did not work as a replacement part. It fit tight in the bobbin race and when I ran the machine it broke the part. Very disappointing
