These uplifting banners celebrate the special kind of love and happiness that can only be felt at home. The vibrant colors and inspiring artwork are perfect for decorating your home and garden.

To create the door greeter decoration and garden flags featured in this tutorial (approximately 12 ½” x 21” each), you will need one “No Place Like Home” Fabric Panel, three 13 ½” by 22” backing fabric pieces, 2 yds of lightweight fusible interfacing, cotton thread, and your standard sewing supplies.

Supplies: You will need one “No Place Like Home” Fabric Panel, three 13 ½” by 22” backing fabric pieces, 2 yds of lightweight fusible interfacing, cotton thread, and your standard sewing supplies.

Preparation: All seam allowances are a 1/2” unless otherwise noted. Press frequently. Cut out each panel leaving a 1/2” seam allowance on all sides. Apply lightweight fusible interfacing to the back of panel pieces and backing fabric pieces.

Step 1: Measure 2” down from the top of your panel on both sides. Mark a small ‘X’. Turn fabric under ½” and sew from the top to the ‘X’ using a ¼” seam allowance. This will be the channel used to hang your project. Repeat on backing fabric.

Step 2: Place the panel and backing fabric wrong sides together. Sew together along the top edge.

Step 3: Sew remaining edges together starting at the left ‘X’ and stopping 2” below the right ‘X’. This extra 2” allows you to turn your project right sides out more easily.

Step 4: Turn project right sides out. Topstitch ¼” along all sides, skipping the channel openings. Topstitch across the width of your project to finish the 1 1/2” channel.

Step 5: Display your new project using a Wall Quilt Holder (with dowel) or garden flag holder. Repeat steps 1-4 on remaining panel pieces.
