Built-in Stitches

Front and center on the eXplore 240 is a display of 23 built-in stitch patterns offering a wide range of practical and decorative utility, including a fully automatic one-step buttonhole. This machine has all the stitches needed to create clothing, home decor, and quilts, allowing you to customize every sewing project.

Built-in Needle Threader

Save time and frustration with the built-in needle threader that will have your machine threaded in seconds. The needle threader can be used with a #11 to #16 needle or Blue tipped needles. Struggling to thread your needle is a thing of the past!

Extra-High Presser Foot Lift

The presser foot lifter raises and lowers the presser foot higher than the normal up position for easy removal of the presser feet or to accommodate placing thicker material or heavy fabrics like denim or quilt layers under the foot.

Reverse Lever

Use the reverse stitch lever to secure your stitches. This feature is wonderful at preventing your ends from fraying or unraveling. To use, hold down the reverse stitch lever, and your machine will sew in reverse reinforcing your stitches.

Free-Arm

Appreciate the freedom of sewing pant legs, waistbands, sleeves, and other tubular items with the free arm on the Elna eXplore 240. A must-have feature for circular sewing, the convertible free arm detaches easily to reveal a built-in storage compartment.

Drop Feed

Ready to try free-motion, embroidery, or button sewing? Simply remove the extension table and open the bobbin cover, revealing the feed dog lever. Push the lever down and to the right to drop the feed dogs on the eXplore 240, giving you total control of the direction of the fabric as you sew.

Thread Tension Dial

The ideal tension setting for most fabrics and threads is between 3 and 5. When adjusting needle thread tension, the higher the number, the tighter the needle thread. If your thread tension is too loose or too tight try making slight adjustments with the thread tension dial.

Snap-on Feet

Easily go from one presser foot to the next on the Elna eXplore 240, no screwdriver required! Press the lever to release the presser foot, then to install another one, simply line it up just underneath the foot holder and lower the presser bar.
