I used it to quilt this one for my grandson due in March. I did “waves” across, then outlined the critters. It was beautiful to work with, not very linty, and I’m so pleased with the results!!

Aurifil 40wt Mako Cotton Thread (1094yds) Details
Product Description
Aurifil's Mako Cotton Thread is a 2-ply, long-staple Egyptian Cotton that has been mercerized to strengthen the thread and give it a lustrous sheen. Mako Cotton thread in 40 weight is slightly thicker than a standard thread, making it ideal for topstitching, free motion quilting, embroidery, lacework, and much more. Aurifil Mako Cotton Thread is available in a wide variety of colors, and each spool contains 1094 yards (1000m).
Because of its slightly heavier weight, it is excellent to use for sewing bags, toys or dolls, clothing garments, or when a more defined topstitching or quilting pattern is needed. In addition, Aurifil threads are certified free of harsh, harmful chemicals and dyes.
Aurifils #1 recommended weight for machine quilting and embroidery. This robust and versatile thread can also be used in serging, cross-stitching, applique, pantographs, and hand piecing. Aurifil 40wt Cotton Thread compliments the fabric and blends into it while providing strength and detail.
The 2021 40wt Color Builders were designed to spotlight the very first Aurifil thread weight produced. A capsule of 12 mini-collections, each including three large spools of the 40wt thread and takes inspiration from endangered animals.

I did machine quilting with this thread. No problems!
Great thread for piecing! Colors always work!
used on my long arm, very nice finish.
Love this 40wt Aurifil thread. Couldn't fine it in my local area. You have a great selection of colors.
Delivery time and price were acceptable. Love the color and thread weight, rate them very good. Haven’t used it yet, but I have used Aurifil threads for several years and know its quality.
Absolutely gorgeous color! Thread is awesome quality. Delivery was super fast.
Great service!
NICE COLOR
Nice tread haven't got to sew with it yet. Jury is still out Thanks
Nice colors
nice spring lilac color
I love to use Aurifil 40wt for machine quilting and my long arm loves it too!
Love this thread. I like to use the 40 wt cotton for quilting. And the color match was spot on.
I love Aurifil thread
I have used aurifil threads and love them. I was able to color match on your website, which on some sites it is hard to color match.
I really like the weight and strength of this thread.
Great products! Great customer service will be back for more accessories
Top notch thread! Awesome customer service!
This Aurifil thread appears to be a good quality, but all the colours are a bit off to me. Especially the Toast tan - not sure what I'll use that for. I was looking for a lighter pale gray; but your gray isn't quite what I wanted. For the high price and wonky colours, I'm not sure if I'll buy this thread brand again.
It is not pink enough as the picture. It has more peach tone to the thread
Fast service. Great thread!
The only thread I use to quilt. Low lint. Five gray works for almost all color fabrics.
Excellent quality thread for quilting.
Love this thread, use it in everything I sew.
I love the thread. I ordered this April 8 and did not receive my order from you for a month. I won’t be ordering from you again.
Great quality!
Great quality, fast shipping!
Each of the colors I purchased are for a specific project I will soon be embarking upon—these are for specific spools of color that were not in my current collection of threads. I can barely wait to start this project.
Beautiful color.
Not right for my machine
I needed this to finish my applique on this project.
Great thread and matches all colors
Great thread that is strong and goes with any color
I love Aurifil thread. My machine loves it too. I occasionally purchase colors to expand my collection. I am a quilter and I like to coordinate my piecing thread when possible. Your selection is wonderful and your price is fair. Thanks for the great service.

Great thread for sewing garments.
Really like this thread. Good price too.
The colors are true to what I observed on the Sewing Parts website. So far this Aurifil thread, even the dark colors, leaves very little lint in the machine which; has been a problem with other brands I’ve used. I am very happy with this thread❤️
I ordered multiple threads and they all are great!!
