I have a Bernina 817 which I love! But, it kept loosing tension. I replaced the bobbin and now it works great!
I had sacrificed one of my bobbin cases to a friend in need. It was wonderful to have a new one and have this particular machine back in business.

The metal appeared old and used, which made me wonder if this was the generic type that was sent to me by mistake. For $50 I was expecting a sparkling new Bernina brand bobbin case.

You asked for my opinion, so here goes. I paid the extra price to get the part that was guaranteed to fit my Bernina. Well, technically, it fits but the quality is poor. The tension spring that is the adjustable portion was brass on my old case where it is a cheap grey metal piece on this one. It is installed slightly off center and sticks up on one side so that any amount of turning the tension screw has no effect. Plus, it constantly cuts my bobbin thread. I ended up putting my old case back on, which I thought was broken, but it works far better than the new one. Not interested in any more of your products. Sue Lau

Fantastic service! We bought a Bernina Record 730 sewing machine in 1964 (I sew as much as my wife Liv) and it has served us well all these years. But a few months ago the "bobbin case" broke (a spring in the locking mechanism broke and the bobbin would not lock in its place). We checked online and found the part at "SewingParts online.com" now in the month of August. We ordered the "bobbin case" and received it today, August 25 2022. It is almost unbelievable that there are spare parts for Bernina after 58 (fifty-eight) years. We think this is so amazing that we would like to share the story with all other Bernina owners.
