My 30 year old walking foot fell apart in the middle of a quilt project. I searched online for a replacement and found Sewing Parts Online. I was happy to see that there were parts available for all makes and models of sewing machines. I found the correct 3-sole walking foot for my 30 year old Bernina. I ordered it the same day. I was surprised how quickly it arrived (about 1 week or so?). My original Walking foot only had 1 "sole" - this one came with 3 soles. I had to Google them to see what to use them for. I'm excited to try the different soles. I used my new walking foot to finish my quilt project. Thanks Sewing Parts for having the part and for the fast shipping!
This walking foot is fantastic. I was put off at first by the price and tried a $25 knock-off from Amazon, but guess what—the genuine Bernina really is a lot better! It runs really smoothly and is markedly quieter than the Singer walking foot on my daughter's machine, and it does a great job of keeping the layers of fabric moving evenly. I find it's really helpful for any very long seam (e.g., pant legs), not just quilting.
Since I do all my own quilting with a walking foot, I thought it best to have two of these sets. One pretty much stays on my Bernina 770 and this second one will not only be a back up, but it fits on my Bernina 440 for smaller quilting projects. The foot itself is very robust and has handled everything I've thrown at it with ease. Both the guides and the three interchangeable feet are indispensable and you just can't beat Bernina's quality. I couldn't beat the price either as it was on sale. Highly recommend.
I was using a generic walking foot for years but was disappointed with its quirks. The Bernina walking foot fits my machine perfectly and has quality built in it. It took 5 additional days to get to me, but it was worth it in the end.

I purchased this walking foot to make a flannel rag quilt. I made a few squares before the foot arrived. The foot made a 100% difference in sewing verses not using the foot. I used cotton batting in the middle layer with a flannel piece for the front and back. With the walking foot it was a breeze. The squares were sewn together perfectly. Highly recommend this foot when using thicker layers. The guide is also very helpful.
