I've had to replace this piece several times on my Brother JX2517. The hook for the foot snaps off easily if you pull your cloth off too fast (which I do, often). Finally found a metal substitute (Presser Foot Shank, Low Shank, Babylock #XE2555101) from SewingPartsOnline.com. that's working much better.
