I bought this spring for my friend’s Singer 128. It worked perfectly.

The check spring arrived in a timely manner. It was easy to install and has worked well.
Worked perfect
The new spring was about 1/8 inch shorter (in the axial direction) than the original on my Singer model 128 sewing machine, causing the "arm" to rub on the outside face of the recess into which the spring was installed, which hindered free movement of the arm. I was able to rectify this problem by permanently stretching the spring axially by about 1/8 inch. Possibly, I could have fixed the problem by installing a thick washer under the spring, thereby bringing the spring forward.

I'd ordered a spring from another site that was supposed to fit Singer model 127. It didn't. This was just the one I needed at less than half the price!
This Check Spring worked perfectly; I had to figure out how it fit into my tension area.. My sewing stitches are much better.
This part, while it fits in the body of the machine, is .100 larger in diameter than the original. That's almost an 1/8 inch. When installed it does not seem to tighten down and can be moved around providing no "take up" as it is supposed to do.
