This is my go-to off white thread, for piecing quilts and quilting them with my Sashiko machine. As usual, shipping was prompt. The only thing I don't understand is why each of the six spools of thread arrived in its own tiny plastic bag. Plastic bags are made from petroleum and will never, ever decompose. Although plastic manufacturers say they encourage recycling, the fact is almost no plastic is actually recycled. Most of it ends up in landfills, strewn about the landscape, or dumped into the ocean.

The description of the purple thread I purchased was only listed as quilting thread. You did not show an image of the top of the spool. I needed hand quilting thread, so took a chance & bought this. It is machine quilting thread. I tried using it for hand quilting, but it seemed like the thread separated, making it hard to thread the needle. It would be fine for machine quilting, but I didn't want to fight with it threading my needle. I like Coats & Clark thread & will continue to buy it.

Sadly, this quilting thread is nowhere near the strength and quality of what it used to be only a decade ago. This thin thread is equal to the regular sewing thread that used to be sold. And, sadly, Coats and Clark used to be the best quality/brand.
