This felt pad requires the user to cut a slice through it with a new razor blade, so that thread can slide into it for installation and through it during use. It works great as a guide with very little added friction, yet totally controls the most floppy section of thread just before it enters the needle bar thread guide. This written explanation will be almost impossible for a non-user to understand. A knowledgeable user of this device will appreciate the servisability and utility. This felt pad is primarily used as a thread lubrication device. It also serves as a thread guide when it's not saturated with thread lubrication.
