This high-end 5-thread serger features 17 built-in stitches! Sew various stitch types selecting from the easy-to-read program display panel. Stitch options include: Safety 4-Thread, Stretch Knit, 3-Thread Wide, Overlock 3, Flatlock 3, Blanket, Flatlock 2, Overcast 2, Narrow Hem 3, Rolled Hem 3, Rolled Hem 2, Stretch Wrapped, Triple Cover Hem, Cover Hem Wide, Cover Hem Narrow, and Chainstitch.
2/3 Thread Conversion
The eXtend 745 Serger comes standard with a 2/3 thread converter. Use the upper looper converter to sew stitches with one looper thread, such as a 2-thread roll hem, a 2-thread flatlock, and an overlock. To engage the 2 thread converter, simply hand-turn the flywheel until the upper looper is in the up position. Lower the converter and insert the hook into the upper looper.
Safety First
The Elna eXtend 745 is equipped with a safety device preventing the machine from sewing if the presser foot is raised or if the front cover or side cover is open. Ultimately preventing accidental operation of the serger during the threading process.
Waste Tray
A useful waste tray can be attached to the serger to keep your sewing area clean by catching cuts from fabrics and thread trimmings while you continue serging.
Tilting Needle Clamp
The Elna eXtend 745 features a smart system tilting needle clamp for effortless threading and changing needles. Remove and insert needles easily without the fear of dropping them onto the machine.
Presser Foot Pressure Dial
For accurate precision sewing, the correct presser foot pressure is crucial. Accommodate various fabric types and thicknesses by adjusting the pressure of the foot. Add more pressure to thinner fabrics and less pressure to thicker materials to achieve professional results. The standard setting is position 5; however, there are 6 positions for adjustment.
Sewing Area
The type of thread or fabric being used may require the tensions to be adjusted. Thread tension is controlled by the color-coded dials. Simply move the dial to the corresponding thread that needs changing. The ideal tension setting for most fabrics and threads is between 3 and 5.
Instant Rolled Hem
Ready to create a rolled hem? No need to change the plate; the eXtend 745 comes equipped with a rolled hem plate. Simply flip the lever, and you are ready to sew beautiful rolled hems in an instant! You can do all overlock stitches by engaging or disengaging the stitch width finger.
