In the photo, the light bulb on the left is what I was trying to replace. The item on the right should work, however if I install it in the machine I cannot close the machine head. Based on the email conversation with customer service there may not be a replacement bulb that will work and fit. I think I will have to arrange an external lighting system of some kind. Very disappointing that such a simple thing may make my otherwise functional machine less useful.
As you said the light is larger than the previous light but it works ok.

I was afraid I was not going to be able to use my very very old Janome machine when the light went out. The light that biurned out was no longer available anywhere. But a VERY helpful person at Sewing Parts found something that wasn't quite right but they said they thought it would work. It took some maneuvering but I finally figured out how to get it in and it works perfectly. I'm thrilled!!! THANK YOU.

I’m so glad I finally got the replacement bulb for my sewing machine. It barely fit, I had to cut the rubber housing for it as it was a little too big. It is also a bright bluish LED, which I’m not wild about. But it’s better than nothing, and it’s all that’s available now.
It does not fit a Janome Memory Craft 3500.
I was so pleased with the replacement light for my sewing machine. I am at that machine several days each week & when the light went out, after only 30 years of use, I was pretty lost. Thank you for having the exact part I needed. When & if needed, I will order from you again. Thank you.

Took weeks before it shipped.
This bulb did not fit my CE20 sewing machine. Had to return.
Not the bulb I thought I was ordering. Looking for a much smaller bulb.
This is not the bulb that was delivered. The bulb sent was not what I ordered and does not fit my machine.
The replacement light was $4o.oo, but this is the first time i had to replace it in 15 years, so i guess it was worth it.
The bulb was for a Janome 4000. My machine is a New Home 4000. The bulbs are not interchangable. Prongs are the same but the bulb is too big for the space.
The light bulb fit perfectly and I have light again for sewing!

The light bulb is the correct one for my machine so I am happy with it. I just wish the shipping could have been cheaper. Such a small item could easily have been put in a padded envelope for a lot cheaper. The shipping was almost as much as the item.
