Grace Quilter's Evolution Hoop-Frame Details
Grace is constantly listening to customer feedback and coming up with innovative ways to improve the quilting experience. The Quilter's Evolution Hoop Frame is the latest new and improved offering to the sewing world. This Evolution Hoop Frame allows you to quilt any size project, even if you are limited on space. You can use any of Grace's Q'nique mid/longarm machines and some domestic machines (you will need the carriage for home sewing machines) on the Evolution Hoop Frame. Convert the traditional hoop-style frame to a five-foot rolling rail frame by attaching a hand wheel to the take-up rail. With the new Quilter's Evolution Series, sewists can reach the heights of their quilting dreams. They'll be able to utilize the best professional frame features without sacrificing space by using the Evolution Hoop-Frame. And when quilters have evolved to wanting a larger frame, they can effortlessly ascend to the Evolution Elite Rolling Rail Frame without investing in a whole new frame set-up.
Evolve
The key word in this new series of frames from Grace is evoltuion since you can purchase an upgrade kit and extensions (sold separately) to "evolve" your Quilter's Evolution Hoop-Frame into the Quilter's Evolution Elite. The Hoop-Frame is approximately 5-1/2 feet long, but with the upgrades and extensions, you can convert the frame into a 8, 10, or 12-foot quilting frame. Please note that 12-feet is the maximum buildable frame size.
Zoning
The Evolution Hoop Frame allows you to quilt crib to king-size projects with its zoning method. The area inside the frame's hoop is called the "quilting zone." This is the area where your machine can reach and make stitches. Once you've finished quilting the available space (zone) on your quilt, you will need to adjust your quilt in the hoop to a new zone or row. If your project is narrow enough, you can convert the frame to a rolling rail system.
HAND-WHEEL (Take-up Rail)
Take your Evolution Frame from a hooping frame to a rolling rail frame. If your quilt top is long enough to reach the front and back rails but too narrow to reach the side rails, Grace recommends converting the structure to a rolling frame by attaching the included hand-wheel. Roll all of the layers of your quilt with the take-up rail hand-wheel. This wheel moves your fabric to the next area of your project, which makes quilting effortless. Grace has also updated the ratcheting system. They've taken the previous bulky, plastic versions and fine-tuned them into a sleek metal structure that's smaller, simpler, and stronger than its predecessor.
Adjustable Leg Height w/ Leveling Feet
Quilt sitting down or standing up using the adjustable legs, which start out at 27" and can be raised to a max of 35". This feature allows you to quilt in whichever position is more comfortable. Each leg also has its own leveling feet, so you can easily quilt on carpet or hardwood. To get the most out of your frame, set all legs to the same height and tailor the feet for precise adjustments.
Channel Locks
Use channel locks to lock your machine direction into either a back-and-forth or side-to-side motion. These locks allow you to quickly go in one direction while maintaining perfectly straight lines.
No-Baste Style Frame
The no-baste design completely eliminates the need for basting and makes your quilting projects easier to manage and complete. Save hours of time and finger strain by simply rolling your quilt onto the rails, and using the attached leaders for guides. Each layer comes together onto the take-up rail as you go. The locking ratchet ends provide precise control over the tension of the fabric layers.
Suretrack Dual Wheel System
Smooth and fluid gliding track system allows your machine to roll back and forth on a track. This enhances stitch quality, efficiency, accuracy, and carriage motion.
CROSS COMPATIBLE
Grace's Evolution Hoop-Frame is compatible with most machines. Unlike previous frame models from Grace, the Evolution Frame is compatible with all their current machines (16X Series, 19X Series, 21X Elite), accommodating up to a 21" throat space. You can even use some home sewing machine models with this frame (*carriage required, sold separately). The top plate/carriage of the frame can house any home machine that's less than 11.5" wide, has a throat space between 9"to 21", and can lower their feed dogs. So easily pair this frame with your longarm, midarm, or domestic machine.
Updated Quilt Clips
The newly updated quilt clips and rails make securing your quilt to the frame easier than ever. Grace has replaced their square rails and corrugated clips with five-star rails and smooth clips with divots on both sides. Instead of trying to fit a rounded clip over a square rail, the clips easily slot into the divots on the rails.
Take-up Rail Clamps
The back fabric clamps have also been modernized, so you no longer have to fight with bungee straps to get your quilt rolled and secured. Best of all, there's no chance of accidentally sewing the bungee straps to your quilt. They now have one clamp that secures your quilt to the rail. This unique design makes it easier for those with arthritis or dexterity issues. The Evolution Hoop Frame includes three clamps that have been rigorously tested to ensure they last for years to come.
FREE MOTION
Although the Evolution Frame is small, it is mighty. Your sewing or quilting machine will effortlessly glide over the fabric in any direction. Smoothly quilt loops, arches, straight lines, and a multitude of other designs with this frame; you can even sew pantographs!
