Product Description
Creates quick, even narrow hems on light to medium weight fabrics. For medium weight fabrics like napkin edges, curtains, and ruffles, use a straight stitch with a length of 2.5 to 3 mm, or experiment with decorative stitches for added detail. For very lightweight fabrics such as silk scarves, batiste napkins, shirt hems, and lingerie, use a straight stitch with a 2 mm length for a delicate, professional finish.
How to Use:Sewing a Lapped Zipper:
- Prepare the Seam Baste the zipper seam closed to hold the fabric in place.
- Position the Foot Select a center needle position straight stitch and attach the Narrow Zipper Foot to the left of the needle.
- Stitch the First Side Fold a narrow section of the seam allowance on one side, place the zipper right side up beneath the fold, and stitch from the bottom of the zipper up to the fabric edge.
- Fold the Opposite Side Lay the opposite fabric edge and seam allowance over the zipper to create a lapped effect.
- Finish the Seam Carefully remove the basted stitches using a seam ripper.
