Superior Feed System Plus (SFS+)

The Superior Feed System+ uses a 7-piece feed dog that moves in a box feed motion rather than the traditional elliptical motion. This allows all feed teeth to rise at the same time, grip the fabric evenly from below, and move it smoothly through the machine. At the end of each movement, all feed teeth drop together, preventing fabric shifting while the needle is in the fabric. Combined with Adjustable Foot Pressure, SFS+ gives these models strong, consistent feeding for a wide range of fabrics.

One-Step Needle Plate Conversion

Changing out the needle plate could not be easier on the Skyline S5AE. Simply remove the extension table, raise the needle and presser foot, push down the needle plate release lever, swap the needle plate out for the new one, lock it into place, and you are ready to sew.

Equipped with convenient one-touch buttons, the Skyline S5 allows you to switch tasks smoothly. You will find the following options along the front of the machine: start/stop, reverse, auto-lock, needle up/down, thread cutter, and speed control slider. Foot Pressure Dial | Thread Tension Dial

Use the foot pressure dial settings to reduce or increase the foot pressure according to the type of material; lightweight and stretchy fabrics require more pressure, while heavier fabric requires less. This feature ensures consistent stitches on all fabric types.

Easily set the thread tension dial to "Auto" for general sewing. Manual thread tension adjustment may be required when the stitch width exceeds "7.0".
