I switched plates because I'm doing a lot small piece sewing and with the other plate I was having too much bunching and a couple of knots at the start. I've sewn about 1000 fabric pieces this weekend and the straight stitch plate is much better for this purpose.
It was perfect so my pointed fabric doesn't get eaten by the plate. Works much better now. Lessens my frustration.

Needed this because my Jenome didn't arrive with a straight stitch plate. Every knit I sewed got chewed up in the zigzag plate I was using so I had to change something. The plate had become damaged from my needle hitting the metal so I bought this one. It took far too long to find the correct one using whatever infor i had about my machine and i finally got it right. This piece is nothing special except that it fits my machine. Shipping was terrible, i didnt pay anextra fee for expidated shipping as there are only a few valid reasons for delay in shipping but this store has that one reason to hang forever to ship a $60 part thats already paid for. GREATFUL I FINALLY HAVE THE PART. just figure shipping out and you'll probably have better reviews.
It's exactly what I needed to keep the corners of my pieces going into the slot on my machine. No more cussing and losing the accuracy or fabric.

What a difference it makes. I'm making a quilt with flying geese blocks, i was getting frustrated with my fabric catching in the feed dogs. Now that's not a problem!
The straight-stitch needle plate for my Janome3160 is a lifesaver for sewing thin fabrics. I often sew garments made from tricot fabric and this keeps the fabric up under the needle and not sucked down into the feed dog teeth. I also hold on to the needle and bobbin threads when I begin stitching and the smaller needle hole assists me and prevents destruction of the fabric and seam. Saves time because I don't have to rip out stitches!
No more messes. No more bad words. Much faster sewing. Hurrah!

Was having trouble sewing my quilt tops with a lot of pieces until I changed the needle plate to the single plate. Makes a huge difference.

Not only did I receive the straight stitch needle plate, but they sent me a foot as well. What a surprise!!
