The pin is shorter and thinner than the original one that my Kenmore 158.12271 has. While it can be installed, it's disappointing that the size is different. It would have been great if I had the measurements before I place an order.
The new one fits my Kenmore 158.12271, but it's thinner and shorter. I only noticed that another person pointed this out after I bought it. I wish there were more measurements provided rather than just listing the models guaranteed to fit.
For 25 years, I've had to unscrew the thread pin and move it every time i thread a bobbin, because I only had one pin. I didn't know parts were still available for my ancient vintage Kenmore. I Googled it randomly one day and was thrilled to find this supplier. Thanks for helping me fix a problem older than some of my kids!
This new spool pin is a little thinner than the stock sears kenmore spool pin. But it fits perfect on my 158 kenmore
During Covid-19 pandemic and being a RN I wanted to sew face masks. I pulled out my machine to discover that the spool pins were broken off. Exactly what I needed to get.
Doesn't fit real well, even tho my model was listed. Barely screws 1/2 turn, like the turns weren't the right distance apart. My model had holes for 2 pins, one of them had old metal broken off in & was unusable. Maybe the other hole also had some thread damage, tho it looked good.
I was so grateful and happy to find a replacement thread spool post for my Kenmore sewing machine. When I moved recently, I removed the post so as not to bang it when I boxed the machine up. I never found it! I can't sew without it. My machine is an old one that has helped me make my daughter's wedding dress, lots of formal dresses, quilts, baby clothes alterations and repairs. Great memories. Sewing machines that are used for a family for years and years become a "part of the family"! Thank you! 🎉
This part did not fit the threads on my machine even though it was listed in the compatible models. My husband is rethreading the part so that it is usable but I am disappointed that we have to do that. He is one in a handful of people that would even know that was possible.
Really have not had time to sit down yet and try it out but think it will work.

It isn't the same as the original spool pin. The machine provides for two spool pins and came with one, though it is loose. The new one won't screw into the empty hole because I think the previous one broke off and left a piece in the hole. I can't get it cleaned out.

It was wonderful to find a source for the missing spool pin on my mother’s 50 year old Montgomery Ward sewing machine, which is still going strong. I was excited to know the part was available. My sewing machine was purchased in 1972. I haven’t used the machine or the spool pin yet. The price was good and received in a timely fashion.
I bought some parts for my mother's sewing machine, they were perfect, she was happy! She thought that these parts could no longer be obtained identically!
One pin went in no problem. The second pin seems a bit too big. I may try drilling the hole larger, or leave it off. Who needs two spool holders!

I ordered 2 YA-2F spool pins for my vintage Kenmore. According to the description they were supposed to fit. I received 2 different sizes, one fit and one didnt. Customer service said they were from 2 vendors. They sent one like the one that fit. Just dont understand why they originally sent 2 different pins. I now have the 2 spool pins I ordered and am a happy customer.
