I needed to modify the tightening screw by removing about 3/8 inch of the plastic grip to expose the 1/4 inch hex drive screw head underneath. I did this so my wife can more easily tighten the hoop by using a hex wrench (similar to a screw driver) instead of a straight blade screwdriver which continuously slipped from the slotted head. She loves this modification and I have done the same thing on the other 3 hoops she owns. The modification should be considered by the manufacturer and the wrench issued with the hoop when purchased.
I placed an order for this item and the Sewing Parts Online website said it would ship within days. When I didn�t receive a shipping notification, I called and apparently the item was on backorder and had been for over a month! I had to cancel this item from my order, which resulted in me receiving shipping charges for the other item I ordered (when I was supposed to have free shipping). You would think SPO could have sent me a dang USB cord and ate the shipping because of their failure to notify me that their item wasn�t even in stock and hadn�t been for over 4 weeks (with no ETA). As a result, I won�t be ordering from them in the future.

I have the Singer Futura XL-400 and this hoop (6x10) is exactly as what Singer sent out with the machine when I purchased it. It is going to be wonderful having a 2nd hoop around so that I can hoop another project while the one on the machine is finishing up.
