When I discovered a crack in the rotary driver's gear of my New Home XL-II, thankfully I found one at the first place I looked. It arrived about a week after the order. I took it with me to longstanding Sew & Vac Shop A, where a couple nice 30-something techs said they were glad I brought in the part because. as a dealer, they have to go through certain channels to get parts. They can't just go online & buy it. Unfortunately their price for installation & another repair was >$350. They suggested I part out the machine. Same day I went to a smaller longstanding Sew & Vac Shop B in Vancouver WA where an obviously highly skilled >50-something guy said no problem. He also was glad I brought in the part. As for sewingpartsonline, I have always, always had outstanding service. One thing: I wish I knew what material the gear is made of. I hear they've come a long way since the plastic or nylon used in the 80s.
Pleased that parts for a 40 year old machine are still available.
