This metalized serger thread is a combination of 65% viscose and 35% metalized polyester and has professional-grade tensile strength that gives you a smooth sewing experience. This thread features a consistently high quality throughout the whole spool and is more economically priced than lower-quality metallic threads. Each spool contains 110 yards. Madeira's more traditional spool shape eliminates the "drop off" and tangling problems associated with the elongated spools many other manufacturers use. Probably not what most people on this site are expecting to see, the Madeira Glamour thread I purchased is part of the recipe for a fly pattern I've been tying in preparation of the upcoming fishing season, Forrest Dorsey's Manhattan Midge. The spool I bought should last me quite a while, since you only need about a half inch for each fly. The photo doesn't pick up the sparkle of the thread used for the wings as much as seeing it live.
use it for applique hand stitching when I want a little sparkle.
Great for a flashy polypropylene emerger pattern for fly fishing.
Bought this thread to tie Pat Dorsey's top secret midge. His idea great results with this thread used for the wing bud. Will be considering these threads in other colors for other flies.

My husband is using it to tie flies for fly fishing,
I've used metallic thread before, but this thread is too thick, I put in a large eye needle and still could barely thread it - then it kept jamming up on my fabric. Maybe you could do a video on how to use this thread, but until then, it was a waste of my money.

I am trying to use this with the Madeira Decora Glamour 110/18 needle as recommended. Having difficulty with the multi-strand shredding as I sew.

The thread is gorgeous and adds just that little sparkle to either my hand made or machine sewn projects. Can be used in both my serger and sewing machine in either embroidery or quilting via bobbin work
