How to Use:

To Make Custom Piping

1. Attach the Foot Snap the Grand Piping Foot to the right side of the needle.
2. Engage IDT™ Activate the Integrated Dual Feed if your machine has it.
3. Prep Your Fabric Cut bias or crosswise fabric strips wide enough to wrap around your cord with seam allowance included.
4. Wrap the Cord Place the cording on the wrong side of the fabric strip and fold the fabric over the cord.
5. Position Under the Foot Slide the fabric and cord under the foot, with the cord resting to the left of the foot.
6. Sew Select a straight stitch, set the stitch length to 2.5 mm, and move the needle position to the left. Stitch along the edge of the cord.
7. Use in Projects Your custom piping is now ready to be sewn into any project!

Tip: When inserting your piping into a seam, shift the needle one step closer to the cord to hide your original stitching for a clean, professional look.

To Insert Piping Into a Seam

1. Attach the Foot Snap the Grand Piping Foot to the right side of the needle.
2. Engage IDT™ Make sure the Integrated Dual Feed is on.
3. Set Up Your Stitch Use a straight stitch with a 2.5 mm length.
4. Layer the Fabric and Piping Place the piping on the right side of your fabric, aligning raw edges. Position under the foot with the piping to the left.
5. Add Top Layer Place a second piece of fabric over the first, right sides together, with the piping sandwiched in between.
6. Sew the Seam Stitch with the piping still positioned to the left of the foot.

Tip: Clip your seam allowance around curves and corners to reduce bulk and help the seam lay flat.

To Topstitch Along Piping

1. Attach the Foot Snap the Grand Piping Foot to the left side of the needle.
2. Engage IDT™ Turn on the Dual Feed for even stitching.
3. Prepare the Seam Open your seam and press the piping to one side along the fabric edge.
4. Topstitch Sew a clean row of stitching just to the left of the seam line, securing the piping in place for a polished finish.
