I absolutely LOVE this machine! I began using her for small, inconsequential projects to get a feel for her pedal and stitches… I’m now quilting a quilt with poly batting (I know, it’s a ufo from my early quilting days!), and the throat space is phenomenal as well as the extra led lights in said throat space. Stitches are easy to change, pressure foot has additional pressure settings easily changed, needle up/down is easy to set and change for one time needs, extra storage in back side of removable bed is cool! Beautiful machine, sews smoothly and quiet with speed when wanted! Easy to thread with the diagram printed on the machine as well as bobbin winding. Top cover encloses spool area and gives the machine a clean, sleek look. She is beautiful!!! And at the refurbished price, I think I stole her!
The machine purchased was refurbished and that is always a risk in the buyer’s part. Upon unboxing the machine and threading it and winding the bobbin is when it all fell apart. The bobbin consistently bunches and knotted regardless of my attempts to correct the issue. I contacted the company and they told me to register the product and send it back to them for repair. This machine is heavy and cumbersome to pack up to take to a FedEx that is nowhere near my home. That said, I have not been able to use the machine nor the accessories I purchased with it. I will try to pack up and move everything after the holiday. Maybe, I can edit this post once the machine gets fixed!
I purchased a refurbished Baby Lock Jazz II sewing and quilting machine. Unfortunately, this machine has had issues since I unboxed it. It is going back to Sewing Parts Online for further repairs as they would not refund me the total price. I have not been able to use the accessories yet. Will post an updated review when the machine is returned. When spending such a large amount of money, one expects a properly vetted and working machine. I am a very disappointed customer.
Everything my daughter wanted and more
I visited the new Sewing Parts Online store in Dixon the first week they were open and purchased a refurbished Jazz II. They gave me a great deal on the machine and everyone was so pleasant and helpful. I machine quilted a full/queen size quilt with no problems. I love the 12” throat space and all of the other features that I didn’t have on my previous machine. I’m very happy with my machine and the helpfulness of the staff.
This machine is wonderful for my poor tired eyes! Large throat space is great for machine quilting and led lights over this space procide much more light than metely at the needle end of the machine. Stutches beautifully and so simple to change stitches between straight and zig zag, the only two ive tried do far. Easy to thread with clear thread path diagrams, easily winds bobbins and needle up/down is simple function buttons. Easy to change pressure foot tension with an easily accessible knob. I didnt want a lot of computerized functions and this fits that need. The only option id like is an auto thread cutter, but i can live without that.
This is the absolute worst machine I have ever tried to sew on. I bought it because of the large throat, so I could quilt with it. But the button to lower the feed dogs rarely ever works. The thread is constantly get caught inside the machine (where the light is located) and breaking. If I finally do get it to work correctly and turn it off and come back to it, it starts the same messed up mess it was doing at the first. Something that I could sew in a matter of minutes on another machine takes hours on this one. Worst purchase I have ever made!
I have have a variety of machines and brands. The simple Jazz is my absolute favorite. I thought the throat space was the reason I bought it. However after all the different combinations of fabrics and different weight threads I have used not once have I had a bad stitch the bobbin stitch is a perfect reflection of the top. I have never had to adjust the tension
