Schmetz 130/705 H-M Microtex/Sharp Needles features a slim acute point that makes this needle excellent for piercing fine or densely woven fabrics, microfiber materials, and synthetic leather. It was designed for modern microfibers/polyesters and high thread count/ high-quality fabrics that are commonly used today. The point is quite sharp – hence the name – but because of this, it is a little more fragile and needs to be changed more regularly, but it produces a lovely straight stitch. The Microtex/Sharp Needle is a great needle for piecing high thread count fabrics like Batiks, silks, and microfibers. It is also used to create stunning topstitching and perfectly straight stitches for quilt piecing.

Most Schmetz Needles include two color-coded bands just below the shank. The top color indicates the type of needle, and the lower color indicates the size. The Schmetz Microtex/Sharp Needles have a purple top band. The bottom color bands on these needles will differ per size. Schmetz 130/705 H-M Microtex/Sharp Needles are available in a pack of five needles in a plastic case that slides shut for safe storage.
