This is apparently not for my slant shank machine... the needle hits the plastic.

I tried every adjustment possible on this foot and on my Singer 301 and could not get this to work for FMQ. Skipoed stichee was the main problem. I adjusted the gout pressure, feed dog position, upper and bobbin tension, needle size, all to no avail.

I got this to practice embroidering, it works great and you can see the pattern well through the clear foot. Very pleased with it, now I just have to improve my skill

I made it work. It needed a little adjustment to the bar to make the foot raise and lower.

completes my presser feet collection and can finish many projects now that I have this. My machine was made in 1958 and is still awesome to work with and this presser foot will become a valuable piece of equipment
I bought the free motion guide foot to work with a Singer 301 and a Singer 401, and it doesn't work with either. There isn't enough room between the bottom of the foot and the throat plate of the sewing machine to glide the fabric underneath.
I am learning & enjoying...many new projects !!
I'm getting used to this one.The last one I bought,stayed above the fabric,it was a generic one. Still have to practice!!

Seems to fit Singer 401a, but the bar that protrudes from the top of the spring hits the screw holding the needles in place. Saw someone�s comments to just bend that bar out of the way. I have to try this yet & hoping that fixes the fit. It seems a tad wobbly right now, but hoping after I fix that bar it will be a tighter more controlled fit.
