The gear is of much higher quality than the plastic one it replaced. I mistakenly bought #103361 (rotating hook bevel gear) instead of #163997 (horizontal hook gear), but was able to fit it to the driveshaft with a shim and the machine runs now. Double check before you order or just buy the pair to be sure.

Make sure the machine will go forward and reverse wile timing. It will save the gear from braking.
