When the presser foot is down it interferes with the needle. I will have tontry and grind some of the foot away to make room, ornjust throw it away.

You simply move the screw to adjust the position of the actual foot. You can get as close or as far away from the needle position as you like. Needle hit foot No good
I was so surprised that I could get a zipper foot for my Singer 301A machine. I have no idea what happened to the original one but this machine is 70 years old and been in the family all that time. I was 13 when we got it - I’m 82+ now. The cost of this item was so reasonable. Thank you for making this possible.

I am replacing my original zipper foot from my old sewing machine. It is just like the original. Delivery was delayed because I also ordered bobbins that had to be delivered from China and the company was holding the whole order until the 3 week expected delivery of the bobbins. It does fit for the most part. A little wonky at first. Readjusted the foot a couple of times. Practiced sewing sans zipper, and feel like it will work.
