Did not receive slant shank compatible foot. The box is the right part number but the foot in it is for a low shank machine not slant shank.
Do NOT purchase if you have a Singer Rocketeer 500. In the item description, it states that it will fit the 500. Look at my picture. This website is lying or misinformed. It doesn’t fit. When my presser foot is all the way down, the walking foot doesn’t touch. I got fooled by this website. This is the first and last time I’m ever ordering from this site again. Find another vendor that is honest. My order took almost 3 weeks to ship because this walking foot was back ordered.
The tongs hit the post, and are not long enough to go over the needle screw; the needle hits the foot - even in the left position... not for my slant shank machine, apparently.

This walking foot worked very well on my 42 year old Singer sewing machine. I was able to sew through 3 layers of a denim quilt nicely.

I tried sewing thick material without it & my machine really struggled. With the walking foot it was much easier.
Have not used yet but easy to install. I wish it had a guide rid though. I purchased one for my old machine and it came with a guide rod that could be adjusted to sew evenly. I didn’t realize this one didn’t come with one.
Best sewing foot ever! Sews through anything, layers of vinyl and denim included, and keeps layers from moving or slipping. Never been able to stitch such straight 1/8 stitches before. I rarely take it off, except for my zipper foot. Not just for quilting!
