The machine for which I purchased the spool pins was my Mom’s. I was broken hearted when the pins snapped off when I was transporting it. I found a place to have them replaced but it was quite expensive. I am so delighted to be able to have extras in case it happens again and I can replace them myself This way I won’t lose the use of the machine for days!
I bought two of these for replacement of a broken spool pin for my Singer 401a sewing machine. One as a back up, one to replace. It didn't fit the pin holder, so I had to shave a tiny bit of the plastic off the end, and it still was a hard fit. I ended up chipping some of the enamel paint (at the base of the spool pin) on the machine trying to get it in, but it likely won't come out now.
I bought several of these, for just in case. But I think they changed the size of this product. I can't get it in the hole. Very disappointed in this procduct.

The pins are too large for the holes in the machine
This does not seem to fit into the hole designated for the Singer spool pin. I am going to keep using my impromptu device{ the inside to a bic pen} . It is probably on my end.
Had to sand each one down a bit before it would fit in the holes. Otherwise, just what I needed.

Replacement pin for my 401A singer.
They didn't fit. Had to heat them with a torch and pound them in. It's still not right, then I guess it'll work for now anyway.

Why didn't I read the reviews before I bought this?! That was my fault. But Sewing Parts shouldn't be selling this spool pin for 403A machines. I shouldn't have to shave some of the plastic off after paying $4. I'm not even sure it will hold after I alter it. It should have threads like the originals or at least be tapered on one end so it would securely fit in the hole.
Exactly what I needed
Thought this pin was threaded so it would screw in, it is nor, so it pops out all the time. Am I suppose to tap it in with a small hammer or glue it in. Installation instructions would be appreciated.

Fit great. But sometimes it comes out…
the Pin is a bit to large in diameter. Had to take it down with a Dremel tool and then Super glue it in the hole. Works now better than it did without the Pin.

The spools I got do not have an indent on the bottom to fit in my machine, as you can tell this example does, they are the same size from top to bottom...they do not fit my Singer 401A
Great spool pin
Some machines have multiple spool pins so getting more than you need is a good idea, just in case one should pop out, or gets broken (they do get brittle with age).
I had to file these down a bit and use a heat gun to soften it up but works perfectly

Don’t bother ordering this part, even though it says “guaranteed fit” there’s no such thing. Doesnt fit, nor is it guaranteed. Purchased another part, didn’t fit, called customer service they blamed me for ordering the wrong part, stated I’d have to pay for returns. Ordered this part afterwards, “guaranteed fit” NOPE. Also all the bad reviews are hidden in the back, no wonder. Not worth ordering
