Customer photo review of Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

I make quilts for a hospice organization. We are a group of women who meet weekly and make 36” quilts on donated machines and donated fabric. The quilt tops are made and then sandwiched with a backing 2” wider all around. It’s double folded all around and a few of us, like me, sew them down. I wasn’t happy with the outcome and took a chance this would make a nicer quilt. It was a bit tricky to attach to the machine. Happy now! I just wish all the machines had a walking foot, but we’re all volunteers and it was a donation purchase on my part for the machine I use.

Obsessed with this! I used it to quilt an old quilt full of applique patches and I CANNOT believe it took me so long to order this gorgeous, beautiful, amazing walking foot. It kicked ass! Now I'm just using it for everything haha

Customer photo review of Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

After two experiences with top thread loops underneath, once with leather and once with a stack of fabric I was trying to quilt, and after having increased the top tension, I started looking for why. When I took the foot off and tried to actuate it by hand. the feed dogs rubbed on the foot on their way down and there isn't enough travel in the needle bar to push it past. The walking foot's feed dogs might not be engaging with the fabric at all. The foot doesn't appear to be warped, but the place that the feed dogs connect to the pivot seems to be too far off-center. I have no idea if this is a common problem for this model or not.

I really like my new walking presser foot. It was bought with the intent of sewing through thick layers of foam for a bag I sewed. It worked like a charm! I was delighted with the end result.

The feeding foot was easy to install, controlled the feed very well and stitched evenly. I purchased the feeding foot to achieve even stitches when sewing knit fabric, so far it has worked well. My only issue is I have difficulty seeing the 1/4” stitch line on my machine, especially when sewing tight curves due to the size of the foot itself,

I bought a generic walking foot years ago. Thought I''d try one designed for my Singer Stylist9960. It does look exactly like my generic one, but after I put it on, I found it to be a much smoother ride! Happy that I gave it a try!

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

It took me a little while to adjust to it, but it works great. I had minky material left over from 2 t-shirt quilts. I wanted to make a pillow for each of my grandchildren. Knowing minky material is very stretchy I did not want to attempt to sew them with my regular foot. The feeder foot worked amazingly well.

Sewing quite a lot of jelly roll rugs and use walking foot for all stages of my rugs. I just ordered two walking feet items for back up so I'm never without one.

I appreciate the pictures, the photos of each sewing machine part which helped me to order the correct part.

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

I attached it to my machine and it didn't work appropriately. Thankfully I didn't need it for my quilt, but I'm disappointed that it didn't work properly.

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

So happy to have this foot! I was surprised to find one available for my super inexpensive machine.

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

I have always hand quilted and this was my first walking foot. It fit my 27yr old Viking Husqvarna as well as my daughter’s 1yr old Singer 250. I had also purchased a different universal foot from another company…but yours has more metal and sturdy parts. It was easy to install and very steady as I quilt.

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

I’ve never used a walking foot in the past. After a few sessions with it, I’m mostly satisfied. Still, I need to find the correct tension settings both for the thread and fabric tension in order to arrive at a proper stitch appearance.

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

I bought the generic walking foot even though I wasn't /quite/ sure it would still work with my Singer, but it does! Sewing Parts Online has it for a really good price too. It's great for working with knits and textured fabrics, but the upper feed dogs make it slightly difficult to maneuver fabric under it when the presser foot is up (I've heard thats a pretty standard complaint for walking feet). Still worth it!

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

The arm that supposed to fit on the right side of the presser foot over the needle screw, keeps getting stuck in the up position and does not help in moving the fabric through as it should. My old walking foot has a “claw” that fits around the needle screw which keeps it in position while going up and down. This one just lays on top of the needle screw. Not good.

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

It didn't fit my machine. When I went to return it I was given a hard time. Doubt I'll shop here again.

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

This walking foot has been a game changer for me. I make baby quilts often for a mission project thru my church and using this foot my quilts will be little tuck and twist free. Made two since I received it and thoroughly enjoyed the process!

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

Used YouTube video for instructions on installation. It works beautifully and I am delighted with the walking foot

Walking Foot, Pfaff, Singer, Viking

I'm not brilliant when it comes to the workings of the walking foot. First, I installed it wrong. Then, when I had the attachment properly figured out, I was silly enough to try free motion quilting. With a walking foot. I don't recommend. For straight lines and cross hatch it is all it is supposed to be. For curves, other than very gentle, lingering, lazy curves, it's not so good. But, that's just my experience. Maybe? With more practice?
