This piece did not fit my Kenmore. For my machine, the carved out notch is needed. Which is not in the replacement piece. However, the company was excellent to work with returning this item for a full refund.

I was thrilled to find a replacement Slide Plate for my Kenmore 158.14310! It doesn't have the notch for the reversible needle plate as the original part does, but it still works! Thank you for the wonderful customer service that was provided in helping me!
The plate does not fit flush with the machine bed. I adjusted the screw plate underneath but it still doesnt fit flush.
Very positive experience from ordering over the phone to quite quickly receiving the part for my 1972 kenmore machine. Fits perfectly!
Unfortunately the plate doesn’t fit properly apparently just a little too big or thick
It fit perfectly with one tiny exception. The machine has a reversible throat plate for strait stitching or zigzag. That plate has a tiny tab on each end to hold it in place. The stock bobbin plate had a tiny notch on its underside for this tab. This plate didn’t have that tab so it wouldn’t seat properly. It took me about five minutes with a file to fix it, and it fits perfectly. So four stars instead of five.

Plate was as described except it was thicker by a "smidge" necessary to fit into its "pocket". It will perform as described. We only needed a screw in the old one so we used one from the new. Great buy if you need it.
