I ordered a replacement Slide plate for my Singer Sewing Machine.
My slide plate (A) has a slide clip broken off.
When I received the new one (B) it was missing the depress button that allows the auto bobbin winder to function. This is a post production copy but it is faulty.
I called to ask about a "True" part and was told they would investigate the inventory and would replace the faulty part with a correct one. They must not have found one. I haven't heard back. I paid $39 for a faulty part. : (
I had problems with what appeared to be my tension not working right. Then one of the bars on the bottom of this piece broke off and I finally knew what the problem was. I bought my machine as my "big" investment when I was 18yo and I'm now almost 65yo. I was very upset when I thought here, I bought this good quality Singer machine it was the latest thing out when I bought it. I thought I'll never need another machine my whole life. When I found the part to fix it myself, I was thrilled. Getting someone to look at your machine isn't exactly easy anymore. It fit perfectly and now my machine works like new again.
In the manual, the plate has a marker on it to align the plate when loading a bobbin. This one is missing the marker. Fortunately, it's not that hard to figure out. Difficult to see how much thread has been loaded onto the bobbin through the little window. Otherwise, it is fine.
Part looked the same. Finish on bottom of plate not quite as smooth. Fits really tight, does not work as good as original. Dissapointed in this aftermarket part. But still recommend this seller. They stand behind what they sell.
It's amazing that parts are still available at this website for my machine which is more than 50 years old. This is my second time ordering from this website and I have been very pleased with the quick-turnaround.
Using the model number of my machine, I was able to find the right replacement part for it and am pleased that I was able to fix the machine without going to a service center.
