I cannot express how much I am enjoying my big board ironing board! I did have to buy a cheap, smaller ironing board on which to rest the big board, as my old ironing board was too wide for the big board. SO worth it! I had also purchased the big board sized wool mat, which is amazing as well. It is so nice to have such a large area to press on, and to not have a tapered ironing board to work around. As others say, a game changer and why did I wait so long? I toyed with making my own with plywood, but that seemed quite daunting. This big board is beautiful, smooth and quite sturdy. I absolutely love it!
I was happy to see this on sale, it fits on top of my iron board with a little space in between. I did add two more layers of batting (the one included is too thin). The board is so helpful for covering a larger area and assembly of quilts. It’s not too heavy also.
One issue. I have a Barbantia ironing board which is taller wider and very sturdy compared to the regular ironing board. So as a result the big board does not fit over the ironing board but perched atop it. I’m keeping it because positioned next to the wall it is maintaining stability. The cover for the board is very good quality so all in all it’s something I have wanted for a long time and I’m glad to have it.
It fit perfectly over my current ironing station. I added the wool pressing mat underneath the cover. I love the shape and extra pressing area. It was easy to assemble. No hinges or screws required. I love my Original Big Board!
Waiting on my purchase of a new rotary cutter. The board is great for cutting and ironing for those larger pieces. And make sure your rotary cutters are not from “”Tales from the Crypt.” OUCH!
I love this ironing board. It is very strong and steady. It was super easy to put together. It only required the 6 screws included and it was ready to use--ready to use in 3 minutes at most. I do have to comment on another review posted on 3/4/2025 by Sharon V. She was totally wrong. She didn't understand how to put the ironing board together. Sharon, I am sorry to tell you, but you did NOT need to re-drill the holes. I am pretty sure you just didn't finish opening the package. There was narrow plastic wrap, wrapped all around the board/legs at the opposite end of the hinges holding the legs secure to the board so they wouldn't move around during shipping. If you had just removed the plastic wrap you would have noticed the legs slide back and forth---all you had to do was slide the legs until the holes lined up. The pieces were not packaged for you to just install the screws where the hinges were---you were supposed to slide the legs to line up the holes before installing the screws. If you had just moved the legs about 1/4" the holes would have lined up perfectly and you would have the space needed for the hinges to function properly. You should not have re-drilled the holes---all you did was mess up your beautiful board.
It is wonderful I have found it useful for so many things when I sew. It is also great when I am pressing and folding fabric for my growing stash. I fold everything the same way so I can place them on the shelf by color. Folding more exactly with my large ironing board has been a real time saver.
Love having just enough space to iron the whole yard of material or quilt
Be prepared to get your drill, nail set, & screw driver out because the "predrilled holes" do not line up with the metal hinge. You must completely remove the attached hardware, reline up the hinge, mark the holes, use your nail set, then redrill all 12 screws. The reason you have to remove the hinge, is that there is no way to just drill new holes as they would fall off the edge and not hold the board. Once we corrected the problem, we are pleased with the board, but for the price, the holes should line up correctly. The owners need to do some quality control. Also, be prepared to leave the board up, as it weighs about as much as my mother. Granted she's an itty bitty thing, but it's way too heavy to keep putting up and down. We just leave it in the walk in closet, & slide it around. If you have carpet, rethink that scenario.
Love it, just had to order the extra pad the one it comes with is too thin. I use a lot of steam.
I love the big, wide surface when pressing the large pieces and then the entire quilt top when it is put together. I can get a much better press and I get it much quicker and more efficiently. It does take up a lot of space in the room but can also be easily lifted off and put on again. I strongly recommend this product.
This was easy to set up. I just placed it right on top of my existing ironing board and was ready to go. I love the larger area to press quilt tops. I love it!

I always wanted a bigger ironing board. It's perfect my bigger projects. It was so easy to set up not that heavy. Just needed more padding.
The board was back ordered when the wool pad shipped, but I didn’t have to wait long. The extra room is a gift! I’m pressing quilt borders for a twin size top, and no hassles with that tapered tip.
I ordered it in late October at a great sale price. Although it was on backorder, I waited impatiently and when it arrived in February 2026 I felt it was worth the wait. Very good quality and when our Maple syrup season ends, I can't wait to get it set up and get back to sewing! I did also order a wool mat for under the provided cover.
I LOVE my new ironing board extension. I can remove it when I need to access the tapered end for ironing clothing. It gives me two ironing boards in one -- exactly what I've been needing.
Love the board, but hate my ironing board that supports it!! My fault!! The big board is just perfect for, not only ironing, but also cutting boards and is high enough to keep my puppy out of my material stashes!! Took a while to get here, but it was worth the wait!! Thanks for carrying this item!!

This ironing board is well made. I like that this is very useful for ironing large items. The padding that came with it could be thicker. It is heavier than I anticipated, so it is a bit cumbersome to move around to store when not in use. Overall I like it.

The extra area is great but it isn’t stable on my ironing board. I read somewhere about enclosed screws but mine had none. I called and inquired and was told they would send screws and get back to me within 24 hours via e-mail. It is 5 days later now!

Heavier than expected which is good. Adequate cover but will add more batting which is not a problem. Makes ironing yardage and quilt tops more efficient.
The board is well made. It’s just too heavy for me to handle. I wanted to return it, but the shipping charge was almost as much as I paid for the item.
Makes ironing on quilting so much easier. Fabric is not falling off the narrow end. I can remove top to iron clothing if needed.
The board is too heavy for me to lift by myself. I wanted to return it following the written instructions on the website, but the UPS shipping charge was going to cost just $20 less than the board itself. By the time I added insurance as required for a return the total would have equaled the purchase price. Not very happy about this.
I love the extra space this gives you beyond a regular ironing board. It is sturdy and fits over my regular ironing board perfectly. Would highly recommend if you piece quilts a lot and want a larger ironing surface.
