I was given one of these with my first Janome. Since the base wouldn't fit the newer Janome I purchased this one. It is marvelous to guide the thread from the large cones placed on a thread stand.

The thread guide is just what I needed to use my Superior Threads Thread Holder Stand with my Janome 9400. I was glad to find the part offered as I had checked with a local Janome dealer and they didn't carry it.
I just got it yesterday--3/19/18. Tried it on my machine and it fits. Haven't used it yet. Will be handy when I use cone thread that doesn't fit machine spools and I use my table holder for large cones.
Seems like a handy thing to guide thread for when you are using multiple threads or the attached thread stand
