Westalee Beginner Essentials Ruler Kit Details
Product Description
Sew Steady's new Westalee Beginner Essentials Ruler Kit is essential for getting started with ruler work! Learn the basics of ruler work on a domestic machine, how to set up a machine for ruler work, and how to create basic quilted designs. The Beginner Essentials Ruler Kit includes 11 tools and eight online University classes:
The 12″ Arc Template is the essential starter template. This ruler will help you learn how to create some of the most common, elemental shapes. The actual size of the template is closer to 6″ long, as the Arc name references an arc cut from a 12″ circle.
Keep all your rulers and templates in place using Sew Steady's Stable Tape from Westalee Designs. Staple Tape is a self-adhesive tape that will hold your rulers in place as you measure and cut. Each pack of Stable Tape includes 5, 6" strips.
Use the Spacing Gauge Quilting Tool to achieve accurate spacing when quilting with rulers and templates. The Spacing Gauge Quilting Tool has four sides which include the following measurements: 1/8in, 1/4in, 1/2in, and 1in. This must-have quilting tool is a huge time saver! Simply slide in the Spacing Gauge Quilting Tool, set your ruler or template, and you are ready to sew.
The eight-point Crosshair Ruler is great for marking reference lines when creating circular designs where you want even repeats or use it to center designs in blocks. This ruler measures 6-1/2", allowing you to mark blocks up to 6-1/2" blocks, making it great for hexagon patterns. The 8-Point Crosshair Ruler will note 4 (90 °), 8 (45 °), 16 (22.5 °), or 32 (11.25 °) reference lines.
Westalee Design's Ruler Foot was one of the first feet explicitly designed to be used on almost all domestic sewing machines, regardless of age or make. Quilt intricate designs using this foot when combined with Westalee's template rulers. Choose from multiple shank types: low, medium, high, or high shank special. If you need help determining the difference between low shank and high shank, lower your foot and then measure the height of the center of the hole for the screw to the needle plate. If it measures 1/2", it is a low shank, and if it measures 1", it is a high shank.
