Digital Dual Feed System

The Ballad comes with a digitized walking foot that uses a belt to assist you in guiding your fabric through the machine evenly and without fuss. This is essential for guaranteeing straight lines and even seams when working with heavy material, several layers, quilt sandwiches, and bias bindings. The Baby Lock Digital Dual Feed also comes with an on/off switch, so you can disengage the upper feeding function without removing and replacing the foot.

LCD Touchscreen Display

Ballad has an exceptional LCD Touch Screen display that is crisp and user-friendly, making it easy for you to customize the settings on your machine for the specific task you are working on. With a 7" diagonal length and 260,000 colors, you'll get a high-definition interface that's painless to use.

All the stitches you need

With 771 built-in stitches, you'll have many creative options. You'll find something for every project, from numerous utility stitches to decorative ones. Your options include 13 traditional straight/zig-zag stitches, 14 overcasting stitches, 14 automatic 1-step buttonhole stitches, five font types, and surplus decorative stitches.

Control Functions

Ballad comes with the following features: start/stop, reverse, lockstitch, and needle up/down buttons, plus an automatic thread cutter, presser foot lifter, speed control, and automatic needle threading buttons.

Knee Lifter

Using the knee lifter, you can raise and lower the presser foot with your knee, leaving both hands free to handle the fabric.

LED Lighting

Never miss a stitch with the ultra-bright LED lights located above the needle. These bright lights will help reduce eye strain and keep you sewing longer.

Built-in Storage

The Ballad is equipped with an accessory compartment located on the side of the auxiliary bed to store extra presser feet, bobbins, needles, and a seam ripper, so you never have to worry about misplacing them.

Advanced Multifunction Foot Control

The machine includes two foot controls that can perform three tasks. As is standard, pushing the primary foot control forward drives the machine, but with the click of a heel on the back of your pedal, the device can trim your thread, sew in reverse, change the needle position, or sew a single lock stitch. The function performed is based on whichever setting you choose. You can also program the additional foot pedal to perform any of the previously mentioned functions. Switching from task to task, securing seams, and turning corners have never been so easy!

Never-Miss Automatic Needle Threader

The NeverMiss Automatic Needle Threader does exactly what it promises. It’s never been this fast or easy - the Ballad threads your needle with little more than the push of a button.

Large Workspace

Baby Lock designed the Ballad quilting machine to take on the most demanding projects. With 11.25" to the right of the needle, this workspace accommodates large projects like king-sized quilts. Baby Lock also designed an optional Extenstion Table, and we carry customized Sew Steady Acrylic Tables to expand your space even further.

Customizable Needle Position

Achieve the perfect scant 1/4" seam or sew on the very edge of your fabric by using the needle position function. You can nudge your needle left and right in .25 mm increments using your LCD touchscreen! Any true quilter knows that perfection comes down to fine details, and this function gives you complete and total control over the size of your seam allowance, right down to the smallest measurements.

Telescopic Thread Pipe

As you may know, quilting can eat up a great deal of thread. This is why many of us prefer to use industrial-sized spools such as King Tut or Signature Quilting Thread. The Babylock Ballad comes with an optional telescopic thread pipe for you to use with these larger spools or for when you're doing free-motion quilting.
