As with most quilting machines, the BLQK2 has a side-loading, oscillating bobbin system that makes for easy replacement. It uses Class 15 bobbins that hold more thread so that you can go longer between bobbin replacements. To access the bobbin while sewing, the machine has an easy-open cover that allows timely access to remove and load new bobbins. The Sashiko also includes a built-in bobbin!

The adjustable presser foot height allows ease of turning fabric stitching circles, squares, and other shapes for complete control. The entire needle area is surrounded by a lighting system for maximum illumination.

This machine is so cool! It took a bit to get familiar with the different way that the bobbin fits in but now I'm sewing with ease! This machine gives you a completely different look than traditional domestics and I love it.
It was a great package and the machine is wonderful. It works totally different from conventional machine but the stitches are beautiful. The extension table is a SEW Steady and very sturdy and the accompanying manuals and thread were a wonderful bonus. I cannot wit to finish the rest of the quilt blocks I am working on and dress them up with sashiko!!!
Because it runs totally from a bobbin, unlike a sewing machine, the Sashiko machine loading preparation was a bit intimidating to me....but using the accompanying manual, and a helpful video that shows the process, I was off to the races.....
It is taking time to learn how to thread correctly and adjust tension but love the stitches. Appears to be very well made.
I like that I will not be sticking my fingers to do handstitching this nachine is fabulous, love it

I’ve been eyeing this machine for a while so I was happy to receive it and have had fun playing with it. My hands are getting older and I can’t do as much hand stitching as I used to. This machine gives me that hand stitched looked!

This machine is a game changer. A simple way to add complexity to your quilt. The stitches are beautiful -- and with a variety of threads, you can create drama or demure elegance. While a niche machine, I still believe most would love to add this to the usual, customary equipment we all have.

I've had a Sashiko machine for several years, and I love it. It works exactly as advertised; the manual is more than enough to learn how to use it. It does take some practice (I admit I have to look up how to load the bobbin every time I have to use it, but that's a pretty small thing), but after some practice, the results are gorgeous. Thanks to Baby Lock for making a machine I would never have known I needed, until I had one.
