More than 20 years ago, my husband, Michael, gave me a gift that changed my life—a sewing class at Marguerite's Sewing School in Nashville, Tennessee. I had no idea that one class would turn into a lifelong passion! Before long, I had taken every garment sewing class they offered, and all that practice paid off when I earned Best of Show ribbons in Adult Sewing at the Tennessee State Fair three years in a row, from 2009 through 2011.
These days, you'll rarely find me sewing clothes because I fell head over heels for quilting. I love the creativity, the challenge, and the joy of turning simple pieces of fabric into something beautiful. If you had told me back then that retirement would lead to me teaching quilt blocks on camera for people all over the world, I would have laughed. But thanks to Sewing Parts Online, that's exactly what happened, and it's been one of the greatest adventures of my life.
