This is the perfect machine for an experienced sewer to take out of the home on retreats, sew days, staycations -anyplace really. I had several women come try it out at a recent event, women who are looking for something smaller than their huge, heavy machines yet something that performs well.

I would’ve given it five stars except for there was one issue that I don’t like about this particular Janome HD 1000 it’s when you take apart the bobbing area you can’t get all the way back there to clean it like on other models you can see all the way back there on this one there is a plate and you have a little gap to get back there that’s the only reason why I gave it three stars if you could see all the way to the back I would’ve given that a five star rating other than that the machine is not that loud to run my daughter hasn’t had it that long

Since I ordered this for my daughter back on July 23 it came on August 28 which was three weeks after her birthday I want people to know it will take a very long time if you don’t buy it when it’s in stock and if you have to wait for it Plan on taking Over a Month sewing parts online customer service is great if you can get the right person and stay with that person the person I got with this company was giving me all the correct answers and when you get your sewing machine there will be a lot of oil that you have to burn off I got the front loader Bobbin and we are still seeing Black on the white thread from the bobbin area so they really oiled the sewing machines very well I have talked to a few people in my neighborhood and it’s just the oil that has to get worked through so they do oil these machines extremely well and the pedal on this particular machine is very touchy so you’re gonna have to take your time if you’ve never use this machine and feel for the pedal works it does go fast my daughter is still getting used to the pedal she’s never had a machine like this but she is enjoying it a whole lot

this is an outstanding machine--- however, it is not for the novice sewer. It is a heavy duty machine and is steel as described- but does not have a drop in bobbin. please be advised though the instruction manual needs tweaking by a technical writer who verifies their written instructions and one who is familiar with sewing. specifically the instructions on bobbin winding and bobbin installation. i am in experienced seamstress and found the correct installation procedure via trial and error, wasted thread and a few broken needles.
